As part of Leeds Music Festival 2017, Seven Jazz will be branching out from Chapel Allerton into the City Centre on Thurs 3 Aug with a programme made up of six live performances and an educational workshop.
Millennium Square will be hosting a range of free music throughout the day and the Carriageworks Theatre will play host to two ticketed events including; How to Learn Jazz: A Beginners Guide with Dom Moore. Dom is a Leeds based pianist, guitarist, drummer and jazz tutor, and an expert in helping people take their first steps in jazz playing and improvisation. The two hour workshop will help beginners and less experienced musicians on their own path to growth. Dom will cover some core components of what you need to begin to play this wonderful style of music.
Headliner Snake Davis is regarded as one of the most talented saxophonists in the music business today. Expect to hear anything from jazz standards to a Michael Jackson or Prince hit and lots in-between. An alumnus from Leeds College of Music he has long been in demand by some of the biggest names on the British scene, as well as visiting artists from overseas. He has recorded and performed live with such stars as Paul McCartney and Kyle Minogue.
Jazz Leeds Festival is at Millennium Square and Carriageworks Theatre on Thurs 3 July.
All the Millennium Square Jazz events are free.
