Aljosa Skorja Conducts The Peti Consort at Chap A Methodist Church

The Péti Consort, a specialist vocal consort led by Slovenian conductor, Aljosa Skorja, will perform its third concert in Chapel Allerton Methodist Church, 20 Town Street, LS7 4NB at 7.30pm on Saturday 28th October.

The Consort draws experienced singers from the north of England together for a handful of rehearsals just before the concert. Its third project, ‘Turbulent Times’ marks the 500th anniversary of the start of the Reformation, with an English twist. This period of religious upheaval changed the prevailing religion in this country from Catholicism to a new Protestant faith.

The repertoire looks at the music of the time from an English perspective, drawing on works composed during the English Reformation (1534 – 1603), including works by Tallis, Byrd, Marbeck, Parsons and Morley.

Tickets £12/ £10 on door
